Who we are
Welcome to Betty Jean's Flower Farm! We're Alisha and Anthony Chavez, and we’re thrilled to share our passion for flowers with you. I'm Alisha, a Chattanooga native who graduated from Central High School in 2010. My journey intersected with Anthony’s while we were both serving in the Army, and it wasn't long before we decided to make Chattanooga our forever home. We've been happily married for over a decade now. By day, I'm a teacher, and Anthony is a dedicated police officer, but our hearts are deeply rooted in our beloved flower farm.
The inspiration for Betty Jean's Flower Farm blossomed from a hydroponics project I worked on with my students, where I discovered a profound love for growing. This passion was nurtured by the cherished memories of my great-grandmother, Betty Jean, whose love for flowers was legendary in our family. Farming on this land, where my great-grandfather William once cultivated, fills me with joy and a sense of connection to my heritage. This farm is a tribute to my grandparents, whose 70-year marriage set the foundation for our family. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing on this very land, and now I have the privilege of growing beautiful blooms that honor their legacy. We hope our flowers bring you as much happiness as they do to us.
Our Values
We are embarking on an exciting journey to cultivate beauty while honoring the earth. As we take our first steps in farming, we are committed to becoming an environmentally friendly and organic haven, with a focus on regenerative agriculture. Our vision extends beyond growing flowers; we are dedicated to creating a sanctuary for pollinators, inspired by the cherished memory of my great-grandmother. We invite you to join us in this heartfelt endeavor, as we nurture both the land and the legacy of those we love.
